Product Review - Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap

Product Review - Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap

Lately I've been using and reviewing a lot of organic, chemical and cruelty free products from various #MakeInIndia brands. Introducing Omved, one more such brand today and reviewing a soap from their vast range of products, the Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap below.

Product Claims: The exhilarating and divine blend of the sensual White Lotus with the woody Vetiver makes Kamalika bath bar the perfect wake-up call to a new beginning every day.
This 100% natural aromatherapy bath bar is extra hydrating for dry skin and soothingly gentle for sensitive skin. Lotus oil works to heal what ails you both physically and mentally as it softens and conditions your skin. Vetiver oil refreshes, cools and relieves mental fatigue.
Our signature cold-process saponified, pure triple oil base of coconut, olive and castor cleanses without stripping; skin-loving Aloe Vera tones while the retained pure plant-based glycerine lends to richer moisturizing.
This classical ancient blend of oils offers you a luxuriating and aromatic escape from everyday stress while it cleanses and moisturizes, maintains your skin's pH balance and refreshing you from top to bottom.

Product Review - Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap

   Price: Rs. 320/-
   Volume: 125 g.
   Shelf Life: 24 months.
Directions: Great for the shower, the bath, or to make the guest bathroom smell great! This natural bath bar is a great way to add more aromatherapy into your day, everyday. Work it up into a light lather and massage into skin at bath time.
   Breathe deeply for best results.
Ingredients: A mild, gentle bath bar, full of natural essential oils. Saponified Oils of Olive (Olea europaea), Vegetable and Castor (Ricinus communis), Retained and added plant-based glycerine, Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis), and true essential oils of Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) and Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera). Nothing else.
   100% biodegradable formula and packaging.

Product Review - Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap

The Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap comes packed in a single layer of transparent cellophane sheet which is encased with a brown information cover. It has the name of the soap and pictorial depiction of the lotus plant printed on its front side while other specifications like ingredients used, manufacturing details, weight, price and shelf life, etc. are mentioned on rest of the sides. The soap is rectangular in shape, translucent and light pink in color. It is packaged in a simple, attractive manner which is quite compact and travel friendly.
The Omved Kamalika Lotus Vetiver Soap has a mild and pleasant scent to it and though I cannot decipher the fragrance it definitely isn't that of either lotus or vetiver. It lathers abundantly, providing instant cooling sensation to the skin on application. It cleanses the skin well, is easy to rinse off and does not leave a creamy layer on the skin. Though it does not strip the skin of its natural oils, it occasionally leaves a few tiny patches of skin dry and flaky. It makes the skin feel clean and fresh and keeps it soft and supple. It prevents eruption of body acne with each bar lasting around 24 days, resisting quick dissolution. It is suitable for all skin types. It is free from all kinds of chemicals and artificial compounds, is 100 % vegan, organic and is a cruelty free product.
It is easily available across the nation via various online stores but at Rs. 320/- for a single bar, it's a bit pricey for the common man (look for discounts!).

Thousands of businesses, products and services are launched everyday across the world. When these products go live, a Press Release (like the one you're currently reading) is usually the first order of business. Businesses of various sizes, including start-ups, can now have their Press Releases published by relevant influencers in less than 72 hours.
IndiPR.com was build to make it extremely simple for a business to get their Press Release published by top bloggers. All a business has to do is upload their Press Release and the 'Automated Influencer Targeting Engine', or AITE for short, proceeds to accept applications and automatically shortlists bloggers based on various factors including internal ratings and rankings. Once shortlisted, the influencers do their research and publish their articles.

Elements Inspired Top Picks from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016

Our fashion inspirations are heavily influenced by the nature and its components, and why wouldn't that be, they're the ones we touch, we see and are keeping us alive. It is this reason why, the official sponsors of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016, #LYFsmartphones have launched their four "Fashion Meets Technology" variants under the name  - The Elements series namely, Earth, Water, Wind and Flame. In keeping with this theme, I am naming my top picks for the Indian bride, from the entire showcase of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016, one ensemble each for each of the four elements of the nature.

Elements Inspired Top Picks from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016

This wine colored lehenga choli worn by Payal Singhal's stowstopper Shibani Dandekar is everything that the element Earth signifies. Right from the earthy color to the gold toned flower and leaf embroidered motif, it has it all. It is the perfect choice for a grand reception for a confident bride who isn't tied down by traditional stereotypes and is ready to have fun with her wedding trousseau. It is inspired by the enigmatic elegance of iconic Indian royal women and given a twist of current fashion trends to make it more suited for the contemporary woman.

Elements Inspired Top Picks from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016

When I think of the element Water, I think of free flowing fabrics with fluid silhouettes. My search for the perfect Water ensemble ended with this Jayanti Reddy eggshell colored long tunic and matching fitted leggings. It has a well structured embroidered sleeveless upper part, an empire waistline which continues in a fluid handkerchief shirt like fashion with a high low hem. Its simplicity is what makes it elegant and renders it perfect for a low key soiree.

Elements Inspired Top Picks from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016

Since Manish Malhotra's Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 Collection is inspired by the four elements of the nature, it would be criminal not to include one of his designs in this list. Though I am unsure which element was the inspiration for Manish Malhotra for the above piece (Water or Wind), its sheer fabric and sky like color definitely makes me think of Wind. This powder blue tulle evening gown with embroidered leaf motif and gathered waistline is perfect for a cocktail party as is for the red carpet!

Elements Inspired Top Picks from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016

Thinking of Flame, I visualize fiery hot colors like reds, oranges and yellows. Saroj Jalan's "The Royal Harmony" collection had featured these in abundance making them perfect for the grandeur of the traditional Indian wedding ceremony. The piece that I've picked up above consists of bright red lehenga and matching dupatta paired with a mustard pocketed choli blouse, each heavily embroidered with gold zardosi work.

These were my top bridal Elements picks. Which are yours??

Banging Start to Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 with Manish Malhotra's "Elements Collection"

When Manish Malhotra, one of the top fashion designers in India, showcased his collection on Day 1 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 taking inspiration from the Elements series of #LYFsmartphones, the official sponsors of current edition of the Lakme Fashion Week, it was bound to create ripples and be the talk of the town. This star studded event was attended by the who's who of the fashion world including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farah Khan, Nita Ambani, Dia Mirza, Pernia Qureshi, Sangeeta Bijlani, Bhumi Pednekar and Sophie Choudhry to name a few, each of whom have flaunted creations by the talented host designer in the past.

The "Elements" collection was showcased at Mehboob Studios, offsite from the usual venue, the St. Regis Hotel on 29th April, 2016 and focused on the four elements which make our world - Earth, Water, Wind and Flame, which also are the names of the four variants of the #LYFsmartphones. The decor of the venue resonated with the theme of the collection - A white backdrop, a 25 feet tall lace beige "Tree of Life" and hundreds of origami paper birds hanging from the ceiling, making for an awe inspiring sight in the strategic dark lighting bringing the audience closer in touch with the nature with the background sound of soft, melodious chirping of the birds.
The Elements collection is tailor made for the contemporary bride and groom, who are not afraid to experiment with their wedding trousseau and believe in taking traditions and decorating them by adding the twist of the modern days. Manish Malhotra stated "'Elements' has been one of my most creatively gratifying experiences. The modern Indian bride is my muse, because there really is no point in wearing a gorgeous outfit if the bride cannot have fun in it. I wanted to showcase the expanse of possibilities that young, stylish brides- and grooms-to-be could explore for their big day,".

The color palette used by the designer for the apparel consisted of blues, ivories, greys, beige, yellows, muted tangerines and pinks. For women styles varied from long gowns, lehengas, shirts with palazzo pants, capes, saris, off shoulder blouses, shrugs and jackets, one shoulder kurtis and a lot more, few having a free flowing silhouette while others well fitted. For males, Manish opted for fitted kurtas and jackets, churidaar or salwars with dupattas, sharp cut suits and trousers. As for the design, floral embroidery, geometric stripes, checks and sequins were seen in abundance on the fabrics. Accessories were kept to a bare minimum with a few models snugly holding clutches while few others held #LYFsmartphones in their hands. Makeup was subtle with a hint of blush on the cheeks and peach lips, with attention being drawn to the eyes with dramatic eyelashes.

The show was closed in style by Bollywood heartthrobs, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Kapoor, each receiving a big round of applause by the audience. Jacqueline wore an ivory evening gown with a silver sequinned floral design, with a rose quartz sheer cape with a long train while Arjun was dressed in a navy blue salwar kurta combo with a silvery grey jacket and a dupatta. The duo along with the other models looked ravishing in Elements - The nature themed collection inspired by #LYFsmartphones.

#MonthEndBroke?? CASHe #CashGivingApp to the rescue

The Aeries group launched an innovative mobile app - CASHe at the ITC Grand Central Hotel, Mumbai on afternoon of 31st March, 2016 and I was one of the lucky few who got to attend the same. CASHe is an application which provides instantaneous short term personal loans to young professionals upto 40 % of their salary with minimum documentation through their smartphones. Yes.. You heard it right! No more tiresome visits to banks and financing companies, standing in lines for hours at end, having to search for bazillion documents to file for the loan application or having to explain the reason for need of the said loan! Instead with CASHe now people can apply for a loan from the convenience of their own homes, while traveling or while enjoying life - All you need is an Android smartphone, internet connectivity and scans of a few basic document and you're good to go!

#MonthEndBroke?? CASHe #CashGivingApp to the rescue

The event started with our emcee of the day giving all of us a warm welcome and providing a quick introduction of the people behind the making of the CASHe mobile app. This was followed by an entertaining dance performance with the main lead playing the role of a young professional tired of how all the expenses in his life leave him with no money towards the end of the month before his next salary is crediting into his account and how now with CASHe he can get almost instantaneous loans to make ends meet and live a more stress free life and enjoy it to the fullest. This short song and dance performance had us engrossed and was a brilliant way of kick starting the event!

They were joined on the stage by the Bollywood heartthrob Arjun Kapoor, who along with the aforementioned esteemed expert panel proceeded to officially launch CASHe  - The Cash Giving App.
We next got to see a few lighthearted pictures and audiovisuals which perfectly captured the various scenarios where quick short term loan of money comes in handy.
- When your boss is a jerk and doesn't pay you on time! Holds true and has surely happened to all of us! Myself included!
- Cash for maa ki dawaai, behan ki vidaai, chotu ki padhai. Reminded me of Raju Rastogi from 3 Idiots and had the entire crowd in splits!
- Asking money from friends, though easy and non-cumbersome often comes with strings attached which often comes back to bite us on our derriere!
- Requesting dad to lend some money, that too in front of his friends, is sure to make him and his friends chuckle at your expense!
